Frequently asked questions

Is Pick & Cook free to use?
Yes! Pick & Cook is free to download and use. We're currently in beta via TestFlight for iOS. Core features like barcode scanning, pantry management, and recipe discovery are all free.
How does barcode scanning work?
Simply point your phone's camera at any food product barcode. Pick & Cook instantly recognizes it from our database of 40,000+ products and adds it to your pantry with all the details filled in.
What cuisines are available?
Pick & Cook features 2,250+ recipes across 22 world cuisines, including Italian, Mexican, Thai, Japanese, Indian, Mediterranean, American, Chinese, and many more. We add new recipes regularly.
Is it available on Android?
We're currently in beta on iOS via TestFlight. Android support is coming soon! You can also access the web version from any browser. Join the waitlist to get notified when Android is ready.
How does recipe matching work?
Pick & Cook compares the ingredients in your digital pantry against our recipe database. It shows you recipes you can make with what you have, and highlights exactly which ingredients you're missing for others.
Can I share shopping lists?
Yes! You can generate shopping lists from any recipe and share them with family or housemates. The list automatically excludes ingredients you already have in your pantry.

TestFlight beta troubleshooting

Installing the beta

Pick & Cook for iOS is distributed through Apple's TestFlight program during the beta period. Install the free TestFlight app from the App Store, then open our invitation link on your iPhone — TestFlight will guide you through accepting the invite and installing Pick & Cook.

The beta says it has expired

TestFlight builds expire 90 days after release. If you see an "expired" message, open the TestFlight app and check whether a newer Pick & Cook build is available — tap "Update" to install it. If no newer build is listed, please email us at pickncook0@gmail.com and we will refresh your invitation.

Sending us beta feedback

Inside TestFlight, tap Pick & Cook and use "Send Beta Feedback" to share screenshots, describe what went wrong, and (optionally) attach a sysdiagnose. Feedback sent through TestFlight reaches us with your device and build information attached, which makes bugs much easier to reproduce.

App crashed or got stuck

First, force-quit Pick & Cook and reopen it — most transient issues clear up after a restart. If the same screen keeps crashing, please send us a screenshot or short screen recording at pickncook0@gmail.com along with the steps that triggered the issue.

Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your Pick & Cook account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing pickncook0@gmail.com from the address tied to your account, or by including your username in the message. We will permanently erase your personal data from our servers within 30 calendar days, in line with our Privacy Policy. Anonymized community contributions (such as product edits and barcode data) may be retained in de-identified form so that they can no longer be linked back to you.
